Spring Break is almost here! ☀️
From March 16–20, Spring ISD students and staff will take a well-deserved break. It’s a great time to slow down, spend time with family and friends, and recharge before the final stretch of the school year. Whether you’re traveling, exploring the Houston area, or just enjoying some extra time at home, we hope everyone has a safe, relaxing, and fun Spring Break. We’ll see you back soon, ready to finish the year strong.

Women’s History Month is a time to reflect on the countless contributions women make across our district every single day. The Graceful Gowns Initiative is offering a FREE prom and formal gown experience for graduating senior girls. This special event is designed to help students celebrate prom with confidence by providing a boutique-style experience that includes a formal gown, shoes, accessories, personalized styling support and even lunch — all at no cost. Congratulations to our Spring High School Law Enforcement and Child Development students who successfully completed the Harris County Teen Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Certification!
The Teen CERT program, supported by the Harris County Office of Emergency Management and FEMA, trains high school students in disaster preparedness, fire safety, basic medical operations, and search-and-rescue skills. Through this intensive training, students learn how to assist first responders and help their communities during emergencies and natural disasters.
By completing the certification, our students gained valuable real-world emergency response skills, leadership experience, and community service training—preparing them for careers in public safety, emergency management, healthcare, and community leadership.
👏 We are incredibly proud of these students for stepping up to serve and protect their communities!

Our Spring High School Theatre students wrapped up their run in the UIL One-Act Play Competition last night. While we did not advance this year, we are incredibly proud of the dedication, talent, and professionalism our students demonstrated throughout the season under the direction of Spring High School Theatre Arts teacher, Dr. Rob Connick.

The UIL One-Act Play Contest is a statewide competition where similarly sized Texas schools present an 18–40 minute play, evaluated by either a panel of three judges or a single judge. Students are recognized for excellence in acting, technical theatre, and overall production.
In addition to competing, Spring High proudly hosted three days of UIL competitions and three days of rehearsals in our building. Our students helped ensure the event ran smoothly, showing the entire district that Spring High Lions know how to lead, serve, and execute a major event with excellence.

As a certified law enforcement officer and Law Enforcement teacher, Mr. McLaughlin brings real-world experience into the classroom, preparing students for careers in public safety and criminal justice. His leadership extends beyond instruction as the SkillsUSA Law sponsor, where he consistently leads a chapter of 20+ active members each year, empowering students to develop leadership, teamwork, and career-ready skills.
Mr. McLaughlin exemplifies the CTE leadership model by:

Lion Players Theater Company News!!
At the NSDA Regional Tournament this weekend, Aaleyah Davis and Janelle Thomas finished 4th in Duo Interpretation and are 1st Runners Up for an invitation to the National Finals. Paulino Martinez III finished in the top 12 in Dramatic Interpretation.
Abeer Siddiqui and Mikayla Zepeda qualified virtually for the International Thespian Festival in Duet Musical, and Joshua Jameson qualified in Monologue - his second qualified event. This brings our total this year to 13 national qualifiers from the Lion Players Theatre Company - the largest number in quite some time.
Spring High School is proud to celebrate our achievements at the 2026 TAFE Teach Tomorrow Summit (State Competition) held at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas!
This 42nd annual event featured 37 competitive events showcasing the talents of aspiring educators from across the state.
