The History of Spring High School

In 1932, the Wunsche family donated 13 acres of land for a school site on Spring-Cypress Road, with the stipulation the school is named after their ancestor, Carl Wunsche. Wunsche school opened for middle and high school students. In 1947, in addition to the building included elementary students until 1958.

The current Spring High School, built in 1969, is named for the community and is located on I-45N so “that motorists traveling on I-45 would be able to see the high school.”
