As we continue to prioritize the safety and security of all students and staff, beginning tomorrow, Thursday, September 24, 2026, the following Student ID expectations will be heavily enforced throughout the entire school day every day:
* All students must wear their Spring High School Student ID around their neck at all times while on campus.
* Student IDs must be worn on a lanyard and remain visible at all times.
* The student’s photo must be clearly visible and may not be covered, altered, flipped around, or obstructed in any way.
* Students should arrive on campus each morning already wearing their ID and are expected to keep it on throughout the school day.
These expectations are an important safety precaution that allows campus personnel to quickly identify individuals who belong on our campus. We are asking for the support of our entire Mighty Lion Family in reinforcing the importance of following these expectations each day.
Please speak with your scholar this evening and remind them to arrive tomorrow with their Student ID on, visible, and ready to go.

We want to take a moment to remind everyone of our dress code guidelines and ask for your continued partnership. Our dress code standards exist to maintain a safe, respectful, and focused learning environment where every student can succeed without unnecessary distractions. When home and school work together, compliance is easier and our focus stays right where it belongs—on teaching and learning.
In addition, please pay close attention to the following:
Electronic Devices – OFF, AWAY, ALL DAY: In accordance with Texas House Bill 1481, cell phones, smartwatches, tablets, wireless earbuds, headphones, and other personal communication/media devices must be powered off and completely put away upon entering the building until the final bell.
Student IDs: Students must wear their current Spring High School ID above the waist and visibly displayed at all times. IDs are also required for bus transportation, testing, and school events. Lost or damaged IDs must be replaced for $5.00.
Backpacks: Only clear or mesh backpacks are permitted. Solid-colored, opaque, or other non-compliant bags are prohibited.
Dress Code: Students must arrive in dress-code compliance. This includes no hats, caps, bonnets, durags, bandanas, pajama pants, extremely tight clothing/biker shorts, crop tops, exposed midriffs, tank tops, excessively short clothing, or backless footwear such as slides or flip-flops. Shorts, skirts, and dresses must be approximately one inch above the knee or longer, and footwear must have a back strap.
Arrival & Safety Procedures: All students are required to enter through the designated entrances, pass through metal detectors, and have bags checked by security personnel. Students arriving after 7:10 AM must follow late-arrival procedures and obtain a late pass.
Prohibited Items: Students should not bring hard metal cups, glass bottles/open drinks, sharp items, mace, e-cigarettes, multi-tools/knives, or unauthorized medication to campus.
Food Deliveries & Sales: Students may not order food or drinks to campus through DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, or similar services. Students are also prohibited from selling food, candy, drinks, or other items on campus unless part of an authorized school activity.
Attendance: Texas law requires students to attend at least 90% of the days a class is offered in order to receive credit or a final grade. Every day and every class period matters.
Behavior & Discipline: Students are expected to demonstrate respect, follow staff directions, remain focused in class, and avoid disruptions. Fighting, substantial disruptions, active defiance, and behaviors that compromise campus safety will not be tolerated. Consequences will be assigned in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
Our students have now had the opportunity to hear these expectations directly from campus administration. Moving forward, our goal is to be consistent, fair, and firm in protecting the learning environment for every scholar.

Dear Mighty Lion Family,
As we begin the school year, we want to make sure every member of our Mighty Lion community understands three important expectations that support a safe, focused, and successful learning environment: Dress Code, Attendance, and Cell Phone Use.
Dress Code: Dressing for Success
Our dress code is designed to help students feel confident, prepared, and ready to learn.
3 B’s Rule: Clothing should appropriately cover the bust, belly, and bottom.
Back-strap footwear is required: Shoes must have a secure back strap; open-back footwear such as slides and backless shoes is not permitted.
Skirts and shorts must be knee-length.
Headwear is not permitted during the school day unless specifically authorized.
Pajamas and tights are not permitted as regular school attire.
Clothing that is revealing, excessively tight, transparent, or otherwise inappropriate for school is not permitted.
ID badges must be visible at all times. Students should wear their badges where they can be easily seen throughout the school day.
Attendance: Every Day Matters
Texas requires students to maintain at least 90% attendance to receive credit for a class. We will use the following color-coded tiers to help students and families monitor attendance:
🟢 GREEN — 97% or higher: Excellent attendance! Keep it up.
🟡 YELLOW — 90–96%: Attendance is approaching the minimum requirement. Please take steps to improve consistency.
🔴 RED — Below 90%: The student is below the state-mandated attendance threshold and may be at risk of losing credit.
Being present and on time each day is one of the most important things students can do to stay connected to instruction and make academic progress.
Cell Phone Policy — HB 1481: “Off & Away All Day”
Under HB 1481, students must follow an “Off & Away All Day” expectation.
This applies to all personal electronic devices, including:
Cell phones
Smartwatches
Earbuds and other personal listening devices
Devices must be turned off and put away from the time students enter the building until the final bell. Students should not use, carry visibly, or access these devices during the school day.

As we begin the school year, we want to make sure every member of our Mighty Lion community understands three important expectations that support a safe, focused, and successful learning environment: Dress Code, Attendance, and Cell Phone Use.
Dress Code: Dressing for Success
Our dress code is designed to help students feel confident, prepared, and ready to learn.
3 B’s Rule: Clothing should appropriately cover the bust, belly, and bottom.
Back-strap footwear is required: Shoes must have a secure back strap; open-back footwear such as slides and backless shoes is not permitted.
Skirts and shorts must be knee-length.
Headwear is not permitted during the school day unless specifically authorized.
Pajamas and tights are not permitted as regular school attire.
Clothing that is revealing, excessively tight, transparent, or otherwise inappropriate for school is not permitted.
ID badges must be visible at all times. Students should wear their badges where they can be easily seen throughout the school day.
Attendance: Every Day Matters
Texas requires students to maintain at least 90% attendance to receive credit for a class. We will use the following color-coded tiers to help students and families monitor attendance:
🟢 GREEN — 97% or higher: Excellent attendance! Keep it up.
🟡 YELLOW — 90–96%: Attendance is approaching the minimum requirement. Please take steps to improve consistency.
🔴 RED — Below 90%: The student is below the state-mandated attendance threshold and may be at risk of losing credit.
Being present and on time each day is one of the most important things students can do to stay connected to instruction and make academic progress.
Cell Phone Policy — HB 1481: “Off & Away All Day”
Under HB 1481, students must follow an “Off & Away All Day” expectation.
This applies to all personal electronic devices, including:
Cell phones
Smartwatches
Earbuds and other personal listening devices
Devices must be turned off and put away from the time students enter the building until the final bell. Students should not use, carry visibly, or access these devices during the school day.

Please take a moment to verify that all required registration documents have been completed and updated for your student.
Students whose registration is incomplete will not have a class schedule available on the first day of school. A schedule cannot be provided until all required registration information and documentation have been submitted and the registration process is complete.
We also ask that every family complete the Free and Reduced Lunch application for each student attending our campus. Completion of this form is extremely important and helps ensure that eligible students receive meal benefits while also supporting resources and services available to our campus.

The Spring ISD Board of Trustees has approved the 2026-27 Instructional Calendar. The approved calendar — Option A — will have students starting classes on Aug. 12, 2026, and finishing the school year on May 28, 2027.
The approved calendar was one of two options presented to staff, parents, and community members for input in a districtwide survey.
The 2026-27 instructional calendar will include a Fall Break from October 12–16, as well as Thanksgiving, Winter, Mid-Winter, and Spring Break, all aligned to support student and staff well-being. Notably, students will have a full Mid-Winter Break from Feb. 15–19, with Feb. 15 designated as a make-up day if needed.
To support student learning, the calendar includes two Intervention Days for select students only on Feb. 16 and Feb. 17. In addition, students will have a half-day parent-teacher conference day on Nov. 3 and a full-day parent-teacher conference day on Feb. 19. There will be no school for students on those two days.
The Spring ISD Advisory Committee on Education (ACE), made up of teachers and staff, provided critical feedback during the calendar development process.
